LIFESTYLE

Mollymook Beachside Golf Course.

Located three hours from both Sydney and Canberra, the Milton, Ulladulla, Mollymook district offers laid back coastal lifestyle with a modern vibe. With world classes beaches, golf courses and restaurants, Ulladulla and surrounds has everything on the doorstep. You really can have the holiday lifestyle all year ’round.

Choose from fresh seafood straight off the local fishing boats moored in the harbour directly across the road, or wander up the street and immerse yourself in the convivial atmosphere of the Wason Street dining strip, with Italian, Indian, Thai and Chinese cuisine. The Ulladulla township offers great shopping with dozens of clothing boutiques and gift shops, cafes, chemists, banks, delicatessens and three major supermarkets. The funky Native Cafe and Oceangrind overlooking the harbour are popular choices for Sunday breakfast or lunch by the sea. Walk to Elizan’s Wine Bar and Restaurant 100 metres up the road, or take a short drive and discover a hidden gem, Cupitt’s Restaurant and Winery with views over the rolling farmland to Pigeon House Mountain.

Just down the hill from Pier 32 is a boat launching ramp and floating pontoon offering easy ocean access for boaters, or why not drop a line off the outer wharf and catch your own dinner. On warm summer mornings, there’s nothing more refreshing than taking a dip in the sparkling sea pool, just 200 metres from your doorstep, or drive less than five minutes up Green Street to the fantastic leisure centre with two heated pools, outdoor pool, 24-hour gym and tennis courts.

Within a ten minute walk of Pier 32 you’ll find the iconic Warden Head Lighthouse, kilometres of bushwalking trails through flower reserves leading to whale watching platforms and a host of community facilities and groups to be part of, including lawn bowls, ten pin bowling, scrabble, fishing, walking and social clubs.

Nearby Mollymook is famous for its beaches, patrolled by lifeguards during holiday periods and throughout summer, but it’s also fast gaining a reputation for fine dining, with Rick Stein’s at Bannisters by the Sea, the Pavilion Rooftop Bar and Grill and award-winning Tallwood Eatery – where local seasonal produce can be found on the menu, along with a great selection of wines.

A little further up the coast is Narrawallee, a quiet hamlet with pristine beaches and gorgeous turquoise inlet popular with families, stand-up paddle boarders and kayakers. There’s some pretty good fishing on offer as well!

South of Ulladulla, you’re spoilt for choice with Burrill Lake, Lake Tabourie and the villages of Bawley Point and Kioloa where the mountains meet the sea and the friendly local wildlife will join you on the beach.

Less than ten minutes to the north is the trendy Milton Village. The main street is lined with cool shops, cafes and boutiques housed in historic buildings. Find a bargain in one of the retro shops, savour a vegetarian meal at Pilgrim’s or relax with friends with a wine or cocktail in the Harvest Bar, Italian Guild or new Small Town. With two pubs, the historic Star and recently renovated Milton Hotel and Dangerous Ales Brewery offer live music, great meals and friendly atmosphere.

Life in Pier 32 offers modern apartment living in the centre of this popular regional area, which is a hive of activity during the summer months, and the pace slows a little during winter, but the weather is still great and there’s so much to do, from food and wine festivals, music showcases, live bands and plays at the Milton Theatre and of course the famous Blessing of the Fleet Festival at Easter and New Years Eve party, where you’ll have the best views in town!

If this sounds like the lifestyle you’ve been dreaming of, or your coastal escape, be quick as there are only ten apartments remaining. Call Ben Pryde 0410 324 209.
